Fit for Life Milestone Looms

GameChanger, the public social partnership founded by Hibernian FC and NHS Lothian, is hoping its weekly free fitness session will pass a huge milestone in the next few months.

Since it first started more than two years ago, the Tuesday night classes have attracted around 65 people per session on average, both male and female.

Indeed, local GPs have referred people to the classes to get them engaged in the physical and social activity the classes entail. As well as fitness, regular talks on subjects like diet, managing finances and other topics take place.

The sessions, run for GameChanger by Hibernian Community Foundation, should see the sessions attended around 10,000 times by individuals since they first started.

Leeann Dempster, Chief Executive of Hibernian FC and a trustee of Hibernian Community Foundation, said: “This success of these sessions has grown and grown, and we are delighted that we are attracting people along so often to enjoy some physical activity and the social interaction that takes place at Easter Road every Tuesday evening. All are welcome, just turn up and take part.”
